CCB to hold public hearing for proposed rule updates
The Cannabis Control Board has proposed to update our administrative rules. Part of this public process means that we share these draft rules and accept comments.
Comments can be made two ways:
Cannabis Vaping Device and Battery Reclamation Pilot Program
The Vermont Cannabis Control Board will launch a pilot program, effective January 15, 2025, to research how a disposable cannabis vaping device reclamation program could be implemented within the bounds of Vermont’s adult use cannabis market. The purpose of the pilot program is to measure the rate of reclamation for disposable cannabis vaping devices made from a compostable PLA based plastic, that also have a removable and rechargeable battery component.

The Cannabis Control Board proposes to amend its administrative rules.
Temporary closure of new applications for cultivation licenses
On November 20, 2024, the Cannabis Control Board voted to temporarily halt the application process for new cultivation applications, effective February 1, 2025.
The deadline for a complete cultivation application is the close of business, 4:30 pm, January 31, 2025.
Statement on Ceres shutting down adult-use and medical businesses
Leadership of Champlain Valley Dispensary, Inc. (d/b/a Ceres Collaborative), license INTG0001, have notified the Cannabis Control Board that Ceres will be winding down operations following the bankruptcy of its parent company in Canada.
CCB staff are working closely with Ceres to ensure the orderly and responsible closure of its businesses.
Retail license application window is now closed
At its September meeting, the Cannabis Control Board voted to stop accepting new retail applications as of Oct. 25, 2024.
Temporary application window for Tier 1 & Tier 2 cultivation licenses
At its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the Cannabis Control Board voted to temporarily reopen applications for Tier 1 and Tier 2 cultivation licenses.
