Compliant Packaging Options

Plastic packaging is prohibited for the retail sale of adult-use cannabis and cannabis products.  See Board Rule 2.2.9(b).  Reusable materials such as cardboard, glass, metal, bamboo, and wood are all compliant packaging options. 

The licensed cannabis community can be a great resource for fellow licensees in their search for compliant packaging. If you have questions about the packaging requirements, email your compliance agent at CCB.Compliance@vermont.gov

PLEASE NOTE:

"Cannabis" means flower and pre-rolls with a potency at or under 30% THC.

"Cannabis Products" means edibles, tinctures, concentrates, topicals, vaporizer cartridges, and other manufactured products (see 7 V.S.A. § 831).

Rules Waiver Request Process

Licensees may request that certain provisions of the CCB's Rules be waived. The Board may approve such requests at its discretion, provided the requests do not conflict with any other state law, or pose a risk to public health, safety, or welfare.
