Hop Latent Viroid Detected in Vermont

A highly contagious cannabis pathogen, Hop Latent Viroid (also referred to as HLV, HpLV, HpLVd, HLVd, or “dudding” disease) has been detected at a licensed tier 1 cultivation site in Vermont.

Physical symptoms of HLVd can be hard to detect but may include stunted plant growth and under-developed trichomes. Often, the disease is not diagnosed until harvest and potency testing – HLVd-positive cannabis may contain roughly half the THC of healthy plants.

Q&A: Emergency rule on synthetic and hemp-derived cannabinoids

The Board voted on April 24, 2023 to adopt emergency rules related to synthetic and hemp-derived cannabinoids.

Since then, there have been a fair number of questions about what this rule means, and how it effects Vermont's hemp product manufacturers.

The CCB will hold an after-hours question & answer session dedicated to helping Vermont's hemp community understand this rule and what it means for their business.
