Peer Networking Series: Compliant Packaging
The Cannabis Control Board is hosting a series of bi-weekly networking events for current and prospective cannabis establishment licensees.
The goal of these events is to allow licensees the opportunity to connect, share knowledge, and hear from industry professionals on a variety of topics.
Unlike regular Board meetings, the chat function will be available to attendees to ask questions of the presenters and their peers. These meetings will also be recorded and live-streamed for later viewing.
Cultivator Inventory Tracking Training Recording
Thank you to all of the cultivators who joined us for the inventory tracking training last night - there were some fantastic questions, and some key takeaways are included below (along with the recording of yesterday's session).
Your initial report in the new Inventory Tracking system containing historical data is due on May 15, 2023.
CCB Comment Regarding Convention Displays and Event Sponsorships
Vermont cannabis conventions and other opportunities for cannabis friendly event sponsorships are well underway for the 2023 season. The CCB wants to remind licensees of current rules and statues and to offer this information on how to best stay in compliance while participating in these opportunities to grow your brand.

REMINDER: Outdoor and Mixed-Use Application Window Closes FRIDAY
On Monday, February 27, 2023, the Cannabis Control Board voted to seasonally close the license application window for all tiers of outdoor and mixed-use cultivators.
The application window for new outdoor and mixed-use cultivators will close at the end of the business day (4:30pm ET) on Friday, April 28, 2023, and re-open at the start of business (7:45am ET) on Friday, December 1, 2023.
Temporary Tier 5 Indoor Cultivation License Application Closure - 5/24/2023
The Board voted yesterday, April 24, 2023, to temporarily close the application window to new Tier 5 Indoor Cultivation applicants - effective at the end of business (4:30pm) on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
This application window closure applies to new applicants only. Licensees who already hold a Tier 5 Indoor Cultivation license may apply for their license renewal as they normally would when their renewal window opens.
Emergency rule on synthetic and hemp-derived cannabinoids
The Board voted today, April 24, 2023 to adopt emergency rules relating to synthetic and hemp-derived cannabinoids, including delta-8 and delta-10 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)

Product Registration is back up
UPDATE: As of 4/20/23, the CCB product registration system is back up again. Applicants may continue to register their products as normal
4/18/2023: The CCB is aware of a system bug currently impacting all aspects of product registration.
Applicants are currently unable to view or edit existing product registrations, or submit new ones.
We are actively working on a fix for this bug, and will update the website when we have fixed the problem

Cannabis Lab Potency Reporting Metrics
On Thursday, March 30th the CCB met with all of the VT State Certified Cannabis Labs. In weeks' prior, a state proficiency test was administered to all of the labs and it was discovered that analytically the labs were aligned, but the reporting metrics being used on the certificates of analysis (COAs) were not the same. Potency can be presented in two different ways:

On March 29, the CCB made an announcement clarifying and reiterating its standing policy prohibiting the use of plastic packaging for cannabis and cannabis products, unless a specific waiver has been granted.
